Indigo Consulting does a double at IAC
23rd March 2009
Asian Paints’ ColourNEXT 2009 microsite and chlorophyll’s corporate website won honours at the recent Internet Advertising Competition awards (www.iacaward.org/iac/). While the ColourNEXT 2009 website (www.asianpaints.com/colournext/index.aspx) won the "Outstanding Website" award in the Consumer Goods category, chlorophyll's video-rich website (www.chlorophyll.in) was awarded the Best Website in the Professional Services category.

This is the second year in running the Asian Paints has been awarded by Web Marketing Association. Last year, the Asian Paints website won the Outstanding Website Award for its corporate website (www.asianpaints.com).

The Internet Advertising Competition (IAC) Awards are Global and produced by the Web Marketing Association to honor excellence in online advertising, recognize the individuals and organizations responsible, and showcase the award winning Internet advertising. The awards are judged on the following criteria:
  • Creativity
  • Innovation
  • Impact
  • Design
  • Copywriting
  • Use of the medium
In the recently concluded competition one Indian interactive agency has stood out for its websites. Indigo Consulting has won two awards in this competition.

The new chlorophyll website at www.chlorophyll.in is more a conversation, than a conventional website. Conceived and designed by Indigo Consulting, the website is a series of conversations on branding. The links are in fact actual queries on the company and on branding, answered by Kiran Khalap, Anand Halve, and other members of the leadership team. Even in terms of navigation and content, the site urges the user to 'experience' chlorophyll vis-à-vis conversations. There is also a 'start a conversation' link that urges users to post their queries, either 'brand-related' or otherwise to Kiran & Anand.

Introducing the new website, Kiran Khalap says, "We at chlorophyll have always believed in applying the rules of branding to ourselves as a brand. And the inflection point in the creation of brands is in the ownership of brands … in the 21st century, all stakeholders wish to contribute to the evolution of a brand. This web site is the open door that invites our stakeholders to participate in chlorophyll’s evolution."

ColourNEXT 2009 is born out of both, unbounded imagination, as well as hard-nosed research. It's the outcome of a comprehensive trend mapping exercise conducted by Asian Paints across India, taking into account a variety of factors like international trends, consumer insights and expert opinions. Information from all these sources are then analysed to forecast design themes & colour palettes for the year ahead. The ColourNEXT microsite conceptualized, designed and developed by Indigo Consulting, is based on 5 themes – Metropolis, Indigene, Earth Song, Multiplicity and Homepage. Each of these themes has its own flavor which reflects the personalities of their respective forecasted colour palettes. In a bid to present colour in the larger lifestyle context, the site uses 'music' to communicate the essence of ColourNEXT 2009. The 'Sound of Music' is an interactive application with a palette of carefully composed music tracks highlighting the flavor of their respective themes. The user can drag and drop any instrument on the track timeline and compose music according to his/her taste and then share it via email thus creating a viral effect.
