Mumbai-based web marketing and consulting firm Indigo Consulting created Hungama on the web with the launch of the website www.hungamatv.com. The website went live on September 26, 2004, on the same day as the channel. At 10 am on the launch day, thousands of children tuned into the channel, and a few more punched in the url to enjoy Hungama TV on the net.
Positioned as an interactive website for kids which encompasses the Hungama TV's core brand values of providing kids with a forum to express themselves & encouraging their non-academic interests/pursuits, hungamatv.com offers a range of exciting activities which include personalizing schedules on show templates and downloading colourful wallpapers, as well as delivering the standard programming schedule in an attractive manner. The biggest challenge faced by the team at the 4-year old web consultancy was to simplify the content to make it easily understandable to kids, and yet provide a comprehensive platform which catered to the 4-14 yr old spectrum.
Accomplishing these was not an easy task, as Vikas Tandon- Director, Indigo Consulting comments: 'Given the short deadlines and tight timeframes, developing the website from concept to implementation, was a challenge that we thrived on-as the final product clearly exhibits.'
The website also acts as another contact point for the consumer-in this case, children. 'Today's wired generation is spending more time surfing the Net, and are becoming Net-savvy sooner. In such a scenario, we decided to build the website in such a manner that it would straddle two way communication between the channel and the kids, bringing alive the concept of involving the kids, as well as allowing them more time to surf the site for channel related news,' says Vikas Tandon. 'The website had also to perform traditional functions - like appealing to the advertisers community and generating leads of customers (kids) for a direct marketing probability. Thus, the website ideally supports the channel.' says Vikas.

The web has also been innovatively used to address the operational requirements of HungamaTV. Indigo Consulting has also created a Distributor module for the channel, using which the distribution team can expeditiously ensure that the channel is being received in all cable homes.
