Business Requirements:

The Social Initiatives Group (SIG) at ICICI identifies, sponsors and supports community projects initiated by social groups and NGOs. The NGOs are a diverse lot and are based in various parts of the country. Each project involves a complex process of information exchange, proposal development, approval, sanction and disbursements of funds, reporting and follow-ups. Moreover, at any given time, each SIG officer oversees multiple pursuits and projects.
The SIG was looking for an easy-to-use web-based system that would serve as a convenient hub and data store for processing Funding Proposals, as well as a tool for collaborative effort.
Solution:

Through a series of meetings, consultants from Indigo worked with the SIG to streamline and evolve a process for identifying, interacting with, and evaluating projects and NGOs with a view to increasing efficiency, reducing paper-work and managing documentation. Our engineers then built a robust, secure, web-based application that enables NGOs and SIG officers to manage the application and approval process from anywhere. The Proposal Processing System captures all interactions and workflows directly into the system. It also includes an engine to generate standard documentation, schedules and registers for easy archiving and retrieval.
The application was built using COM objects for the business logic, ASP for the presentation layer, and Oracle as the database server.
