The Challenge

HDFC Bank is reputed for Wholesale, Retail Banking and Treasury Services. The bank's product offering was not leveraged by the web site. In September 2005, Indigo Consulting was entrusted with the task of revamping the web site.
The prime objectives of the new web site were to maximise lead generation, showcase the depth and breadth of services, enhance the user experience and streamline web site maintenance with greater efficiency and version control.
In terms of execution, the new web site had to go live at "internet speed" with the client setting a near impossible deadline of 30 days.
The Solution

Indigo Consulting deployed several teams to ensure efficient implementation and prompt integration of the new site.
The current site utilizes an intuitive navigation and user interface to showcase the bank's products and services. Also, the site has been architected in a manner such that product information is accessible within 2 clicks.
Content has been presented in a user-friendly manner to engage prospects and generate leads. Lead Management was facilitated by integrating the web site with the fulfilment process using MS SQL server.
From a user perspective, content was segmented and personalised for Retail, NRI and Wholesale banking customers. Moreover, content was segmented by state, region and geography for customers. Personalisation for NRI Customers ensured increased relevance.
Indigo Consulting leveraged Interwoven's TeamSite, a web content management tool for efficient site management and implementation.
The web site has set benchmarks in usability and strategic online marketing. Within 2 months of the launch, the new www.hdfcbank.com has registered a 65% growth in page views, a 30% growth in lead generation; in fact certain products registered a 100-200% growth in leads.
