 Business Requirement:
HSBC offices in various countries across Asia-Pacific were spending
thousands of dollars each time to create demo applications for their
Internet Banking services. Since all countries used the same platform,
the services, as well as the demos required were largely similar.
Indigo suggested development of a template demo application that could be easily customised and deployed by each country based on local product requirements.
The key challenges in this requirement were:
- Development of a modular architecture, right down to the granular level
- Allowing for multi-lingual deployment
- Allowing for local sensibilities in creative development of the demo
Solution:
Bringing together world class skills in communication design, interface design,
creative development, and technical design, Indigo Consulting has developed a powerful
Internet Banking demo that can be rapidly adapted by local business users to incorporate
locally available services, currencies, account number formats, and even language.
The creative team worked on developing a compelling proposition for the Internet Banking
service. Using Convenience, Control and Security as the key values of the service, the
proposition translated into an animated intro, followed by a user interface that not only supported the communication,
but also put the user at ease with Internet Banking using "test drives" to try various features.
Simultaneously, the technical team worked on an architecture that combined Flash for the presentation layer, with Action Scripting and XML to create a modular, and easily customisable demo. This package was rounded off with a detailed user manual to help non-technical users in the customisation.
For the latest version, Indigo Consulting
worked with HSBC to migrate the site to the Interwoven (TeamSite)
Content Management platform.
Results:
Indigo Consulting has now worked over three versions of the demo for HSBC Asia-Pacific (PIB1, PIB2 & PIB3), which has saved them thousands of dollars over multiple country customisations, besides launching industry-leading demos that are user-friendly and effective.
