Jovinal was recently featured in the Mumbai Mirror, in an article that focused on the appraisal season. In the article, Jovinal shares his thoughts on how one should approach the appraisal process and use it to enhance their performance.

Here are some excerpts from the article ‘Some tricks of the trade to get prepared for appraisal‘:

“By giving you a broad overview of your operations, appraisals prepare you for the future. They help you mould your niche talent and develop their modus operandi,” avers Jovinal Rodrigues, copywriter, Indigo Consulting. He further adds, “Performance appraisals by and large analyse past performances and behaviour and offer opportunities to reflect and learn from your past actions. A bad review in the previous year can push an employee towards enhanced productivity in the following year.”

Also, having clarity on your past assessments and current achievements conveys to the appraiser that you are well aware of your drawbacks and determined to improve. While preparing for the review interview, it is always beneficial to convey with confidence to your manager your game plan for the future. There is no better way to prepare for a review than to derive lessons from the past, improvise, and make headway with end result,” reveals Rodrigues.

Well I can’t speak for all for us, but someone is certainly more than ready for his appraisal!!
