Our 10th Diwali Celebration

It was that time of the year again, when Indigoans got together to celebrate the most eagerly awaited festival –Diwali. Being Indigo’s 10th Diwali celebration , we were promised a bash that even ‘Rajni Kant celebrate better’….and we were not disappointed at all. (Sorry Rajni….I guess you really can’t win all the time!)

The festivities began a week earlier with all our three offices adorned with lights and small decorative lanterns. Kudos to Girish and team for the awesome diwali get up that had everyone wowing themselves as they walked in to begin their festive week at work.

Thursday arrived sooner than expected (maybe it was the holiday the next day or the bash we were promised) and saw our super talented ladies Sheena, Priti, Rita and Punam design some colorful flower rangolis at the entrance of every office. These girls sure knew how to define flower power, with each design being unique and beautifully crafted.

With all the lanterns in place, rangolis laid out and diya’s all lit, Indigo Consulting was now set for its tenth Diwali celebration. Walking into the office in their traditional best, Indigoans prepared themselves for the most awaited festive day at work. As promised, a sumptuous ‘Rajdhani’ lunch box was provided (that had everyone hoping Diwali could be celebrated every month)

Lunch was soon followed by a Puja at Adhyaru performed by Vikas and his family, as is custom every year. Employees from all offices soon joined in for the Aarti. The place was abuzz with everyone chit chatting, exchanging festive greetings and smiling for the cameras. At the end, Diwali gifts were distributed to everyone AND this had them hoping Diwali could be celebrated every week!

For some of us the day ended early and for some a little later than usual (and it certainly wasn’t work that kept them back) leaving everyone with a long festive weekend to look forward to. Now if only Diwali falls on a Monday next year…. :)
